Saudi End of Service Calculator
How your job ended can change your award by a third or more. Enter your last monthly wage and the reason the job ended. We apply Articles 84, 85 and 87 of the Saudi Labor Law for private-sector workers, and show every step.
Leaving for a reason the law protects? Article 87 can give you the full award even if you left. Check the cases below.
How is the end-of-service award calculated in Saudi Arabia?
Article 84 gives half a month's wage for each of the first five years and one month's wage for each year after that, with part-years paid pro rata. It uses your last wage. If you resign, Article 85 then pays only part of that award, depending on your years of service.
First 5 years: 5 × 6,000 = 30,000. Next 3 years: 3 × 12,000 = 36,000. Full award SAR 66,000.
If you resigned: 8 years is between 5 and 10, so you get two-thirds = SAR 44,000.

How much end of service do I get if I resign in Saudi Arabia?
Article 85: under 2 years of service, nothing. From 2 to 5 years, one third of the award. More than 5 and under 10 years, two thirds. 10 years or more, the full award. The calculator applies these steps for you.
Which wage is used for the Saudi end-of-service award?
Your last wage: basic pay plus the regular allowances you are paid, such as housing. The ministry says the employer and worker may agree in writing to leave commissions and similar variable pay out of the base.
When do I get the full award even though I left?
Article 87 gives the full award if you leave because of force majeure, and to a woman who ends her contract within six months of marriage or three months of giving birth. Leaving for one of the employer breaches listed in Article 81 also keeps the full award.
When is no end-of-service award paid?
If you resign with less than two years of service, or if the employer dismisses you under Article 80, which lists serious misconduct cases such as assault or fraud.
Did the 2025 Labor Law changes affect the award?
No. We read the ministry's consolidated Labor Law (as amended by Royal Decree M/44, in force since 19 February 2025). Articles 84 to 88 carry no amendment note, so the formula and the resignation shares are unchanged. What changed is the resignation process (new Article 79 bis): a resignation counts as accepted after 30 days with no reply (the employer can delay it up to 60 days with written reasons), you can withdraw it within 7 days unless it was already accepted, and you keep all your legal rights.
How soon must the end-of-service award be paid in Saudi Arabia?
Article 88: within one week of the end of the contract. If you ended the contract yourself, within two weeks at most. The employer may deduct any debt you owe because of the work.
Does unpaid leave count as service in Saudi Arabia?
Article 2 says service stays continuous during legal leave and holidays, and during unpaid absence of up to 20 days (together or separate) in a work year. This calculator counts the whole period from your first to your last day, so if you had longer unpaid leave, check the effect with the ministry.
